Following the joint venture establishment of Fabsec Ltd in 2001, a plated section processing line was added at Severfield's Dalton site in North Yorkshire.  Since then, this facility has offered beams with bespoke web openings that are designed for structural and mechanical efficiency, with added value of a pleasing architectural appearance.

Production Lines 7 and 8 followed at the Dalton site in 2001 and 2003 respectively, to provide custom-built facilities for the environmentally controlled application of intumescent fire protection paint.

Cellular Beams
Cellular beams are increasingly being specified because of their reduced weight, ease of service integration and pleasing aesthetic appearance, with this in mind Sherwin-Williams has developed a range of thin film intumescent coating solutions designed to be used on cellular beams, which can provide fire protection for up to 2 hours.  In consultation with FABSEC® (The UK's leading supplier of long span plated cellular beams), we can also offer fully fire engineered plate girder beams with any opening configuration including rectangular openings.
