The PFP module FIREBEAM® within the FBEAM® software has been tested exhaustively at Element Warrington Fire in a three-year programme of loaded, coated, composite PFP tests.
These tests were devised and analysed by the Steel Construction Institute and the resulting mathematical model incorporated into the passive fire protection module of FIREBEAM® and indeed form the backbone of modern PFP design guidance for cellular beam protection in the UK and Europe.
The Sherwin Williams intumescent passive fire coatings provide PFP resistance up to 2 hours.
FIREBEAM®Incorporates the PFP engineering module which is a technology solution fusing the latest optimisation and coating technology to provide the UK’s only integrated solution for optimised PFP beam designs. Data on the latest range of coating technologies are held within the software. This allows efficient specification with much reduced passive fire coating thickness, even at 2 hours fire resistance.
FIREBEAMS® are designed by steel designers using the optimum combination of steel section and intumescent passive fire paint to give the most economical solutions for 30-120 minutes fire resistance including 15-minute incremental steps allowing the user to choose between a saving in weight or overall cost.
FIREBEAMS® are fabricated from plate, analysed and designed using the FBEAM® software with a fire design license.
As the software is third-party SCI ASSESSED the user can design a whole building of passive fire protected long span cellular beams instantly and efficiently, without the need to wade through lengthy and complex fire protection guidance.
